Day 232

It brightened my day when:

J: I heard an old friend's voice out of the blue at a Nat's game--it's been about 7 years since I have last seen him
K: P took the time to help sort out our packing problems
P: daddy's friends gave me a high five
J: G and K told me they loved the movie I picked out to watch for them and we enjoyed an afternoon together
H: K gave me a kiss on the nose right before bed

Day 231

It brightened my day when:

J: the owner at our favorite restaurant was so pleased to see us in his restaurant and remembered us as soon as we opened the door
K: the owner at our favorite restaurant brought us 8 mango lassi's on the house because it had been so long since we had been there
P: the whole family went to our old church and we saw all our old friend's
J: G surprised me tonight
H: J came over and said he was gonna play catch with me

Day 230

It brightened my day when:

J: the kids came in and told us how much fun they had playing baseball together-just the 3 of them
K: the lady at T was so cheerful and friendly with us in the line
P: J played baseball with us even though she normally won't play sports with us
J: P took me with him all day today and we had milkshakes together
H: G shared some of her ice cold water with me during the movie

Day 229

It brightened my day when:

J: the staff at the store were so kind and genuinely helpful with all my questions and solved my problem without any expectations from me
K: my neighbor phoned from home letting me know she was well
P: P asked us to come help him in the yard and offered to let us try his tree trimmer
J: P told everyone that I was really getting the hang of driving the tractor in reverse
H: P took me out for an all day excursion--just him and me

Day 228

It brightened my day when:

J: we saw the owner of the batting cages interacting with his young clients in such a fun way
K: the very kind lady at the store offered us her "VIP" card so we could get a 50% discount
P: the customer behind us told me "no problem, take your time" when I had to rush and go get something else in the store
J: G said she loved the dress on me
H: daddy played catch with me

Day 227

It brightened my day when:

J: the guy gave me such great advice--for free!
K: G kindly brought some ice cream home for the kids as a surprise to them
P: the guy at the store was so helpful to my dad
J: mommy took a bike ride with me around the neighborhood
H: K came out to throw the ball around with me

Day 226

It brightened my day when:

J: the new tenant commented on how much he was going to enjoy reading the paper on our lovely porch
K: I received a lovely email from a good friend just checking in on us

P: the cashier at the store was so friendly and helpful to P and me
J: P took the time to tell us a funny story about G
H: P made a homemade basketball hoop out of the cat scratcher for us

 

Day 225

It brightened my day when:

J: my sis made us all such fantastic food straight from the recipe book of our grandmother
K: J was so enthused to instruct us all about the universe on our trip home
P: dad let us finish the book on tape cd with him so we could pass the time easier
J: Uncle J treated me to a slurpee
H: mommy let me sit on her lap during supper and went to get a blanket because I was so cold

Day 224

It brightened my day when:

J: the visiting man stopped to help us with our directions but in turn was grateful to us for having helped him with his
K: the park rangers were so helpful and informative and caring regarding the rapids and their safety
P: B showed us the lake they swim in and came out to swim with us
J: L wanted me to play in the mud with her
H: everyone watched me swim

Day 223

It brightened my day when:

J: B took off work so he could be with the whole family
K: W gave me a HUGE goodnight kiss
P: GP, J, B, H and daddy all came out to play HORSE with me
J: L wanted me to take a bike ride with her around her neighborhood
H: T asked me if I could take Zoey for a walk outside

Day 222

It brightened my day when:

J: J and M told us they were going to come down with us to TN
K: P drove out of his way at 5:30 in the morning to bring us H's bag that he had forgotten
P: the man at TB was so friendly to us and had such a great southern accent
J: my cousin came over to hug me
H: my cousins asked if I wanted to try out the atv in their neighborhood

Day 221

It brightened my day when:

J: L took me to pick up the rental car
K: H gave me such a great goodnight kiss and hug
P: daddy threw the ball around with me
J: my friend sent me an email
H: mommy played ball with me

Day 220

It brightened my day when:

J: K asked me to ride along with him to go pick up the supper
K: G volunteered her time and services to help ready the house for the renters
P: P came to my room and asked if I would like a back rub
J: the adults let me stay with them and participate in their conversations and even laughed at my "funnies"
H: mommy rode in the backseat with me and let me fall asleep on her shoulder

Day 219

It brightened my day when:

J: K told me she was impressed by my handy work on the fence
K: the postman stopped by for a quick chat
P: my good old friend asked me to come over and it was just like old times--felt like it had only been 2 days since we last saw each other even though it has really been 4 years
J: H and J brought me a surprise slurpee from 7-11 to say thanks for the help I had given them
H: J bought me a slurpee to say thanks for helping paint and clean

Day 218

It brightened my day when:

J: the guy at HD offered some free lumbar and told me exactly what I needed to do to fix my gate
K: the Y family stopped by our house to see if we were there after 4 years of having not seen each other
P: B came over for a surprise visit
J: Cha took me to the store with her and B (just the 3 of us)
H: mommy told me I could do what she did when she was little and let the slug crawl on my arm

Day 217

It brightened my day when:

J: we got a morning wake-up call from our friends
K: H came over to sit next to me on our train ride
P: B asked me to tell him a story during our long car ride
J: B asked me to carry him out of the car
H: man on the train told us if we listened quietly we could hear the echo

Day 216

It brightened my day when:

J: J read the opening line of my paper for me and gave me her opinion
K: my kids walked through the door and gave me big hugs
P: K stayed up to talk with me a bit before bed
J: U J let me be in charge of his iPod
H: P gave me a big hug and told me I was a pretty cool kid

Day 215

It brightened my day when:

J: my mom volunteered to read through my paper
K: the manager at CC's was so kind to the kids and took the time to help them choose their items
P: the adults really liked our play and cheered us on
J: B wanted me to spend the night at their house
H: T came and told me they really needed me to act in the pirate play with them and that they couldn't do it without me

Day 214

It brightened my day when:

J: P invited me to one of his meetings just for fun
K: J told me he received such a lovely note from our ex-landlord
P: J & J were giving me pointers to help with my baseball knowledge
J: Gi asked me to make the salad dressing and Uncle J told me it was good
H: mommy asked me to go on a quick bike ride with her

Day 213

It brightened my day when:

J: the man at the golf course was so friendly to my kids
K: B ran over to give me a big kiss
P: my cousins came and surprised us
J: B was so happy to see me
H: daddy took us to the golf course
