Day 274

It brightened my day when:

J: the H wanted to go play roller hockey with me
K: the twins were busy studying for their history test TOGETHER!
P: N called and invited me to his house, even though I couldn't go
J: mommy and I were able to watch an episode of "everybody love raymond" because I finished all my homework
H: daddy took me roller blading

Day 273

It brightened my day when:

J: the man in the parking lot gave me a heads up that he was about to leave so I could have his parking spot
K: V was so excited to see us at church
P: R came over to shake our hands
J: mommy said I could get a caramel macchiato
H: all the hockey members came over to give me a handshake

Day 272

It brightened my day when:

J: one of my student's challenged me in class and stuck up for herself
K: K took the time to come over and take a look at our little, stray cat who is sickly
P: we walked into the house and it smelled so nice and clean
J: Mr. C was having so much fun during music class
H: we played field hockey in sport and everyone was happy because I scored 3 goals

Day 271

It brightened my day when:

J: the new dad at hockey came up to tell me all about his experience being here
K: the nice man at the music school knew how to tell us to find P's teacher
P: my teacher told me I learned fast
J: mommy brought snacks after school
H: daddy took me to Mcdonald's to do my homework and eat before hockey

Day 270

It brightened my day when:

J: my kids said a few words during their MUN experience with me
K: H was so happy that we were able to play together at home with no interruptions
P: daddy said I made some really good comments during MUN
J: E offered me some of her sandwich because she noticed I was starving
H: mommy played inside huge baseball with me

Day 269

It brightened my day when:

J: P, J, K and H were sitting and waiting for me at the dinner table when I got home
K: C was so welcoming to H
P: my theater class was so so much fun
J: I was able to see an old friend and she came up so excited to see me
H: B and C let me come over while mommy went to the school meeting

Day 268

It brightened my day when: J: K texted me to see if I was having a good day K: J texted me back and put a smiley P: W said he was coming to hockey with us J: mommy said she would love to take me to decathlon after school H: P and W said they couldn't wait to go to hockey with me

Day 267

It brightened my day when:

J: I got to talk with the neighbor for the first time

K: C and B came over and loved the garden

P: PL called and asked if I could come over today

J: C said how much she liked my dress and shoes

H: B came over to play and he wanted to play the wii with me

Day 266

It brightened my day when:

J: K and L came up to talk to me when they saw me at the market
K: J really appreciated his bday gift
P: L and L came over and we played hide n go seek in the yard
J: L came over and we got to chat like old time
H: everyone got in the pool with me 

Day 265

It brightened my day when:

J: got a call from a colleague asking whether my son would like to audition for theater
K: I saw an old friend and she stopped her car and rushed out to come see me
P: I got word that I was accepted into theatre
J: L called to see if I wanted to go somewhere with her
H: mommy fed an abandoned cat and is letting us keep it

Day 264

It brightened my day when:

J: S was happy I was able to help him locate his lost phone today
K: P was relieved to have some of our left over quiche so she wouldn't have to cook tonight
P: L and E both told me they thought I did a great job on my monologue
J: K texted mom to ask if I was interested in doing a class with L
H: mommy brought a cupcake for me after school

Day 263

It brightened my day when:

J: P and J were so excited to join me in my MUN class
K: H was so excited when he did so well on his homework
P: K surprised us with a Wii hookup
J: daddy told me a funny story about Uncle J
H: daddy got into the pool with me

Day 262

It brightened my day when:

J: a colleague said, "thanks man, that's exactly what I needed"
K: S came over for a chat and a look around
P: my friends gave me such great feedback on my monologue
J: my friend and I gave each other a look in class and almost laughed out loud
H: my coach gave me a head nod during practice

Day 261

It brightened my day when:

J: P was so happy to have guessed my trivia question and he jumped up for a high five during dinner
K: everyone was so happy to have enchiladas for supper
P: L helped me get prepared for my monologue
J: the teacher gave my friend and I candy bar for having won the trivia race
H: mommy let me watch some of Cars 2 during lunch

Day 260

It brightened my day when:

J: the whole family was so excited to have me hook up our big screen to watch some football
K: J volunteered to take P to his party so I could paint the front door
P: my friend's dad took us to play paint ball
J: I received an email from a good friend
H: mommy got into the cold pool with me

Day 259

It brightened my day when:

J: I ran into one of the players whom immediately recognized me and spent a few minutes talking sports
K: we saw L and C and had a few minutes to catch up
P: I got to see my old classmates and spend time with some friends
J: the lady at the store started talking to us and was so happy to tell us how much she loved America
H: N gave me a whole bunch of his bday treats

Day 258

It brightened my day when:

J: a colleague told me he was so grateful for all the grapes we brought in
K: S brought such a delish for H and I to enjoy
P: I got an email from a friend back home
J: mommy asked me to make fudge and loved it
H: my friends said I was good at field hockey

Day 257

It brightened my day when:

J: H looked over at me to see if I had seen his hard work pay off during his practice
K: C brought us a package of tofu just because she knew how much H loved it
P: my friend's asked me to go eat with them during lunch
J: our teacher made a sarcastic but funny comment in class to a boy and everyone thought it was so funny
H: mommy made me a yummy supper bag to eat on my way to hockey

Day 256

It brightened my day when:

J: the kids were asking if we were able to listen to TK today on our way to school
K: P brought over some more of her delicious home-grown veggies
P: the Russian teacher was so friendly and encouraging to me
J: my English teacher told daddy I was a very good student in her class
H: daddy came home and jumped in the pool with me

Day 255

It brightened my day when:

J: H's hockey coach asked if I was coming to play myself on wednesday
K: I received a phonecall on our new line from P and G
P: the Russian teacher said it was okay if I wanted to switch
J: mommy made a yummy meal for us when we got home
H: mommy reminded me there was no school tomorrow

Day 254

It brightened my day when:

J: a student told me he was happy to be in my class
K: UPS arrived and handed me the Alice box and was so helpful offering advice on how to hook it up
P: A invited me to his bday party
J: L and I shared a funny moment in class
H: mommy made tofu for me

Day 253

It brightened my day when:

J: I received an email from Alice box saying that UPS would deliver our internet within the next 2 days
K: J mowed the grass for us
P: everyone (except for K) had a fun time in the pool
J: daddy and I played on the same team
H: everyone came to the pool with me

Day 252

It brightened my day when:

J: K brought me my toast and cafe du monde coffee out on the patio on such a gorgeous morning
K: J made cafe du monde coffee for me
P: K invited the family over for dinner and it's always so delish
J: L told me how much she loved Hunger Games and we talked about it all night
H: S played a game of ping pong with me

Day 251

It brightened my day when:

J: I received an email from my mom
K: my neighbor brought over such beautiful grapes from her vines
P: my friends and I had lunch together
J: L waved to me from across the campus
H: the teacher said we were having sport on Fridays

Day 250

It brightened my day when:

J: P and J were so excited to be driving to school again so they could listen to TK
K: one of the moms wanted to know if I could work with their girl to help her with English
P: all my friends and I were reunited
J: my friends came to sit with me
H: my friend called to wish me a happy rentree

Day 249

It brightened my day when:

J: K had a great dinner out on the terrace for us for the 1st time since moving in
K: the kids said how happy they were with their class schedule
P: I found out my good friend was back at school and hadn't moved
J: my friend L told me she was in my class
H: mommy reminded me it was Wednesday and there was no school

Day 248

It brightened my day when:

J: H gave us a big smile from his classroom on his 1st day of school
K: H woke up happy and ready for school
P: H gave me a huge wave goodbye
J: B told me to stop growing
H: my whole family got to take me to school today

Day 247

It brightened my day when:

J: our neighbor brought over a huge bag of delicious grapes
K: electrician came out of his way to help solve a problem
P: H told me he wanted to play in the pool with me
J: mommy said I could order another book to enjoy before school started
H: P played in the pool with me

Day 246

It brightened my day when:

J: P had the plumber come to fix a few things around the house
K: J moved all the boxes out of the way for me
P: everyone let me sleep in one last time before school
J: S came over to eat with us
H: everyone helped me get ready for school

Day 245

It brightened my day when:

J: I woke up early and got to have my coffee outside with such an incredible view then K brought me out some breakfast
K: J had my coffee all ready to go in the morning
P: I looked out the window and saw J and K having breakfast outside
J: everyone let me sleep in until noon
H: daddy took us to eat at Ikea
